Rajni Shankar-Brown, Ph.D., is President of the National Coalition for the Homeless Board and an award-winning Professor and Distinguished Chair of Social Justice Education at Stetson University. She is a community organizer, cultural strategist, published author, poet, artist, policy advisor, and human rights and environmental justice activist. With over three decades of experience working toward housing justice, she has worked extensively in the areas of homelessness and housing, and community-engaged education, as well as in a variety of transformative leadership roles with diverse communities, organizations, government agencies, emergency housing shelters, corporations, PreK-12 schools, and institution of higher education in urban, rural, and suburban areas across the United States and world. Dr. Shankar-Brown is deeply committed to ending and preventing homelessness, and advancing sustainable community wellbeing, equity, inclusivity, and justice.
