Suzette Shaw is a Skid Row resident who writes, talks and advocates, Skid Row from a woman’s perspective. Displaced to Skid Row almost a decade ago, her trials have fueled her advocacy. Compelled to speak power to truth, for herself and others, she now advocates on various platforms. Including as the NAEH representative for Los Angeles. She is vice chair of the continuum of care board for Los Angeles through LAHSA, co-chair of the Los Angeles Central Providers Collaborative, LA County Racial Equity Steering Committee, Resources to Empower People Experiencing homelessness in Comparative Trials (RESPECT), Homeless Policy Research Institute (HPRI) and Race Equity, USC, Patient Centered Outcome Research Institute (PICORI), various projects, United State of Women Ambassador (4th term), former Senator Holly J. Mitchell’s 2020 choice for woman of the year (amongst other affiliations).
